In the mid 1950's, Jorgensen began to get involved in conveyors to handle chips, turnings and scrap produced by machine tools. Along the way, Jorgensen designed its own belt and invested in tooling to stamp the metal belt parts. Giddings & Lewis, Sundstrand and Greenlee were among our first machine tool builder customers.

Charles T. Jorgensen refined and improved the original designs, and established patents that were key in Jorgensen becoming a leader in the machine tool chip conveyor industry. As the technology in CNC metal cutting machine tools has advanced, Jorgensen has kept pace by offering conveyor design solutions to meet the evolving chip removal requirements of these machines. In 1995 Jorgensen came out with the Filterveyor, a chip removal system that addresses the coolant filtration requirements of many of today's high speed CNC metalcutting machine tools.

Today, Jorgensen enjoys a leading position as a supplier of chip conveyors to machine tool builders and importers. Major customers include:
